Jeff is at Twin Cities Hospital in Templeton right now. My family is visiting my aunt.  He got to my aunt’s on Tuesday and was doing well.  He went to see Toby Keith on Thursday.  Friday, he wasn’t feeling well.  He was weak and dizzy.  He had been having trouble with diarrhea for about 10 days so my Mom, Sarah and Aunt Cassie took him to the hospital to be checked. They took some x-rays including a CT of his head (which thankfully was negative), diagnosed him as dehydrated and possible a C.diff  infection in his stool.  He went home that night, slept all night and felt great on Saturday.  Then woke up about 1 a.m. on Sunday vomiting.  Vomited one more time, woke up again at 6 a.m. to go to the bathroom and then went back to bed.  My mom woke him at 11 a.m. for his meds and had trouble keeping him awake.  He was supposed to go home Sun. but my mom and Sarah didn’t feel comfortable with sending him on that ride home with just him and Sarah. So they took him back to the hospital to be checked thinking he needed another IV. In the ER, the doctor said that he had too much morphine. They gave him a drug called Narcan to counteract the effects of the morphine. The nurse gave him too much and he went into withdrawals. He sat up in bed with his eyes wide open. He started shaking. He got cold. His gums started bleeding and he was in tremendous pain. The doctor gave him morphine to counteract the Narcan. It didn’t help so they gave him more. They ended up giving him 8 mg of morphine.   He was then admitted.  He was asleep when I got to the hospital at quarter to four in the morning with my friend Mike. Sarah and my mom were still at the hospital making sure he didn’t have any more problems with the medications. At 5:20 am he woke up for a minute or two and then went back to sleep. With 8 mg of morphine he’ll probably be sleeping very well for a while.  The plan is to send him home later today and back down south so he can get his chemo tomorrow.  Hopefully he will be able to make the trip.
